Granada Huntley East Chain Schools #2536

The Granada-Huntley-East Chain School is located in Southern Minnesota between the two larger towns of Fairmont to our West, and Blue Earth to our East. The GHEC school district is comprised of Granada, Huntley and East Chain. The Granada-Huntley Schools paired with the East Chain Schools in 1987. In 1992 our two districts consolidated.

Our high school grades 9 - 12 has an enrollment of 68 students.  Our middle school grades 6 - 8 has an enrollment of 60 students. Our elementary currently has 116 students in grades K - 5. We receive students from several area locations.  We have students from Fairmont, Blue Earth, Elmore, Winnebago, Delavan and Truman.

Our challenge is to provide the best possible education for our students.  We take a great deal of pride in being able to provide for our students.  We have a very successful pre-school program that has shown a great deal of growth over the last few years.  We currently provide a pre-school program for ages 3, 4 & 5.  Our numbers have grown consistently over the last few years and we are proud that we added an afternoon class this year.

The Granada-Huntley-East Chain Schools employ 43, which makes the school the largest employer for our three communities.  GHEC is very fortunate to have parents who take an active role in the educational processes that take place within our district.  This guidance provides direction for our schools.
