A Little About Mrs. Watt...

This is my fourth year teaching at Granada Huntley East Chain and I love it!  The students and staff make me smile everyday!

Where I come from…

I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska.  I lived with my mother and my older brother in the “big city,” but we always enjoyed going to Grandpa’s farm for family gatherings.  Two things I enjoy remembering are the weekly trips to the library with my mother, and rambling around Grandpa’s farm with my brother.

Off to Africa…

I married into a family of farmers, teachers, and missionaries, so I shouldn’t have been surprised when after child number two, my husband and I started planning our move to Africa.  He worked to finish his degree in Secondary Science Education.  He graduated in May and in June our family boarded a plane to Jos, Nigeria.  Our son was 8 years old and our daughter was 6.  Nate taught in the K-12 missionary school that our children attended.  While there, one of the positions I filled involved helping the two Special Education teachers work with children.  I enjoyed it so much that I decided I wanted to become a special education teacher myself!

Education and experience…

When we moved back to the United States, we ended up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I earned my degree in Special Education in 2012. I then worked at Southern Door Middle School for one year before my family and I moved to the Fairmont area.  I began working at Granada Huntley East Chain in the fall of 2013 and I love it here!
