Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT (The Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Test)

Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT (The Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Test) is used for the National Merit Scholarship Program. This test is offered in October every year. The fee for the 2016/2017 school year is $15. The PSAT exam is recommended for four-year college bound students. It is NOT required and the test is NOT used for college admission. Students who are strong academic students and test well may want to take the PSAT to qualify for National Merit Scholarship during their 11th grade year. Rigorous course work and preparation may be necessary to qualify for a merit scholarship.
10th graders: Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 10th grade or below can benefit from early feedback on their skills. Students and families can review their percentiles to see how their scores compare to the scores of other 10th grade test takers. If you would like your student to take the PSAT/NMSQT, contact Mrs. Millmann at 507-447-2211 or brenda.millmann@ghec.k12.mn.us
