It's very exciting for me to be a part of the Granada Huntley East Chain School District. As I grew up, I attended a small, rural school where people were like family, positive relationships were developed. Being at GHEC allows me to make connections with the entire school body much like the rural school I grew up with.
My educational experience started in the health care field where I worked as a nurse for ten years. I went back to school to obtain my teaching degree, because teaching was one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. I wanted to find a way to continue to teach. Thus started my journey to become an educator. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato in Special Education. I went on to further my education with licensure in Emotional/Behavioral Disorder, Developmental Disabilities, and Learning Disabilities. I've also received certification in Crisis Prevention Interventions. I'm continuing my education at MSU, Mankato in educational leadership.
